Science

At Cocos Islands District High School, Science encourages students to be curious, ask questions and explore the world around them. Guided by the Western Australian Curriculum, students develop their understanding of biological, chemical, physical, and Earth and space sciences through practical investigations, observation and problem-solving.

Our unique island setting provides meaningful opportunities to connect classroom learning with the local environment, from exploring marine ecosystems and biodiversity to investigating weather, sustainability and the responsible use of resources. Students learn to make predictions, collect and interpret evidence, and communicate their findings, developing the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions and understand how science contributes to everyday life.
