Technologies

At Cocos Islands District High School, Technologies develops students’ creativity, practical skills and confidence in designing solutions to real-world problems. Guided by the Western Australian Curriculum, learning across Design and Technologies and Digital Technologies encourages students to investigate, plan, create and evaluate, while using tools, materials and digital systems safely and responsibly.

Our West Island campus offers a fully equipped Home Economics kitchen and woodwork and metalwork facilities for high school students, supporting practical learning in food preparation, materials and design.

Access to digital technology is excellent, with every student able to access a one-to-one device as required — laptops for high school students and iPads for primary students. These resources support students to collaborate, solve problems and develop the skills to participate confidently in an increasingly digital world.
